World Forecasts 2012
A reading of the main transits for 2012
An overview of the main tendencies and themes in the political, economic and social spheres.
By Paolo Crimaldi
So we’re coming to 2012, a crossroads of a thousand theories on the hypothetical end of the world, as well as the rebirth of humankind on the basis of higher and more spiritual values.
I think these are just expectations that have arisen in a period of great economic, social and ethical instability, as has happened several times in the course of history. Suffice it to recall all the catastrophic events foreseen on 11 August 1999, when the sky showed a square configuration between the four Fixed signs, with the addition of a solar eclipse; actually, it was just partly visible in our country, and I don’t think there were so many shocking events on a global level.
Moreover, if we look at the configurations for the notorious 12 December 2012, the sky shows aspects that are not particularly difficult, as, on the contrary, will happen before that date. So that fateful day might be considered as a turning point, after which we are probably going to see incredible things, before definitively changing course.
So, with regard to the general situation in Italy, I can assume that we won’t have any news before April, and that everything will remain vague, in a sort of muffled ambiguity; this may lead to a stalemate and a real lack of determination in holding out for innovative projects or ideas on an individual level. This could create discontent and a spate of social tensions, which may be sparked off in April, when Mars is in opposition to Neptune and to Chiron in Pisces. Then these tensions may explode around 24 June, when Uranus in Aries is in a perfect square to Pluto in Capricorn. These aspects spur resolute and often violent actions. Since, in June and July, Jupiter in Gemini will be in square to Neptune and to Chiron in Pisces, my predictions may come true, due to severe economic disruptions or leaders’ hollow promises, which will be promptly contradicted by the reality of facts, thus bringing about quite violent tensions.
We should remember that the ongoing square between Uranus and Pluto will be bipartisan in the sky of our Italian politicians, since it will certainly have an impact on the charts of Berlusconi and Bersani (both born on the same day), but also on those of Fini, D’Alema, Di Pietro and many others. So the entire political class might be forced to bid farewell to the “corridors of power” due to an inability to govern, because of tensions and infighting, which might shed light on untenable positions even the most accomplished sophists can no longer justify.
Of course, these same planetary aspects represent the general world situation, and the current economic crisis will undoubtedly be felt even by stronger economies, which seemed to be immune to it, such as China and India.
Redesigning new balances and having a different perspective on the world and its commerce will be necessary; of course, the situation will not be more equitable or inclusive, but it will probably show more rational and consistent features, even though it may undermine the importance of many civil liberties and rights, which have already been acquired, but have been taken for granted for too long.
The summer months, especially June and July, will be the most tense and potentially dangerous worldwide; we should be particularly careful, since conspicuous events, (even in geophysics ) are more likely to occur in this period. In actual fact, the notorious square between Uranus and Pluto could act in physical terms, thus causing natural disasters, amplified and worsened by human action in areas already severely at risk.
Fortunately, the universe and the sky are always able to achieve a homeostatic balance. Later this year, the entry of Saturn in Scorpio on the evening of 5 October will redress old balances and old alliances; so we will probably come to the fateful 2012 a little poorer, but with greater certainties, a pleasant feeling of being in charge of our own destiny again, ready to roll up our sleeves in order to concretize our ideas, promoted by Neptune and Chiron in Pisces.
So we can undoubtedly say that 2012 will be a difficult year, (and I don’t think we need astrology to see this); on the other hand, especially from autumn, there will be a recovery phase in terms of solidarity and a sense of community, which seemed to be lost due to an excessive idealization of competition and individualism.
